Changes to Liquor Licensing Hours

The Cook County Board recently passed Commissioner Britton's amendment to the hours of business for alcoholic liquor license holders. This legislation levels the playing field for establishments in unincorporated areas that were previously unable to serve alcohol until noon on Sunday, putting them at a disadvantage compared to their incorporated counterparts.

Now that this legislation has passed, it is immediately in effect and all license holders will be notified by the Cook County Liquor Commissioner about the change to sale hours.

Should retail establishment choose to alter their hours of operation, they must communicate those changes to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission by filling out an application for change of hours. The form can either be mailed or faxed. An additional fee will not be incurred.
