Updated: Jun 21, 2023

Located in Wheeling, the North Suburban Cook County American Job Center is one of over 3,000 federally funded American Job Centers in the nation. Services are provided from both job seekers and employers, and all services are free. American Job Centers have experienced career counselors on staff that work with job seekers to identify their interests, assess their skills and abilities, and provide career coaching, interview prep, resume assistance, job placement, and on-the-job training opportunities.

The North Suburban Job Center is run in part by the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnershop (The Partnership). Founded in July 2012, The Partnership is the non-profit umbrella organization that operates the largest public workforce system in the country. The Partnership oversees a network of more than 90 community-based organizations, American Job Centers, satellite sites, and sector-driven centers.

On average, The Partnership helps place 7,000 to 10,000 residents in permanent employment each year. Since its inception, The Partnership has helped place approximately 100,000 individuals in permanent employment; collaborated with more than 2,000 employers; and administered more than $471 million in federal and philanthropic funds.
